Riding training costs 100 and 1,000 gold in Forever, and your first mount is free
- Riding training costs 100 gold, then 1,000 gold
- Your first mount is free
- Official controller support, not the retail workaround
Mounts in WoW Forever follow the new rule that the cost is in the training, not the mount. Michael Nuthals and Kris Zierhut told Sportskeeda that training costs 100 or 1,000 gold depending on the level, and that your first mount comes free. They didn't say which levels the two costs apply to. Wowhead reported the interview on Sept 18.
That moves the classic gold wall from the vendor to the trainer rather than removing it. The developers were open about why: big gold goals to save up for are good for the economy, because they pull gold out of it.
The interview also confirmed official controller support. "Technically, you can play on controller on retail, but it's not great," the developers said. In Forever it is supported properly, and they see it as an accessibility option.
