How Legacy works: shared points, three trees and a 16-point cap
- Account-wide progression built around replaying 1–60
- Points come from milestones like level 25, 45 and 60 on a class
- Every character has the same pool but spends it separately
- Only 16 points can be spent at launch, out of about 65 to earn
- Extra progress feeds a cosmetic reward track
Legacy is Forever's reward for leveling more than one character. It's account-wide, and it's built around what Classic players end up doing anyway: running 1 to 60 again.
Points come from normal milestones, not gimmicks. Reaching level 25, 45 and 60 with a class counts, so does hitting a profession tier like Artisan Engineering, and there are challenges in several categories while you level and explore. The points are shared, so every character on your account has the same total. Each character spends them separately, which means your Hunter and your Priest can run completely different Legacy builds.
There are three trees. Adventure helps with leveling and exploring. Well Rested, for example, builds rested experience faster and raises how much you can store. Professions helps gathering and crafting, and Bountiful Harvest gets you more of the scarce materials from mining, herbalism and skinning. Resourcefulness takes away recurring hassle. Reagent Economy removes reagent costs from class abilities, which anyone who has rebuffed a whole raid will appreciate.
The number that matters is 16. At launch a character can only spend 16 points, even though you can earn around 65 through challenges. The strongest perks are deep in the trees, so 16 points means real choices. It also means nobody has to finish every challenge to keep up, and a new player doesn't start 65 points behind.
Progress past what you can spend isn't wasted. It feeds a Legacy reward track with cosmetic and prestige rewards, and none of them give power. New challenges, perks, branches or whole new trees can come in later updates.
