Transmog is optional in Forever, and so are HD models
- Hide other players' transmog through an NPC or a preset
- Dungeon green and blue appearances go to every eligible looter
- Epic raid looks stay with the player who looted them
- One switch sets SD or HD models for the whole game
- Official controller support
Transmog is in Forever, but you can mostly take it out of your own game. Turn it off through an NPC or pick the Classic preset when you start, and everyone around you shows the gear they actually have on. You still set your own appearance and whether your helm and cloak show.
Collecting is set up to avoid loot drama. When bind-on-pickup green or blue dungeon gear drops, every eligible looter gets the appearance, so nobody has to roll against someone who only wants the look. Epic raid appearances work the other way. Only the person who loots and binds the item gets it, so if you see someone wearing raid gear, they earned it.
There are rules. You can only transmog within the same armor type, cloth over cloth and leather over leather. Saved outfits can hold a different look per armor type for the same slot, so an outfit still works when you swap gear. Low-level characters can't use appearances above their level until they hit 60, and PvP looks still need the matching rank.
Character models are one switch. You can run the whole game with the original SD models or modern HD ones, and the choice applies to you, NPCs and everyone else, so you won't see HD players standing next to old-model guards. HD models also get the Classic animation sets back.
The world is getting a visual touch-up without changing the art style: rivers that flow, fog in Duskwood, moonlight through the trees in Ashenvale. Official gamepad and controller support is coming too.
