No raid attunements for Forever's launch raids

In short
  • No attunements for the raids at launch
  • The aim: bringing friends along without a long quest chain first
  • Later raid tiers: Blizzard won't say yet

You won't need to unlock Forever's launch raids with an attunement quest. Ana Resendez and Clay Stone said so in an interview with But Why Tho?, which Wowhead reported on Sept 18.

The reasoning is access. The team wants raiding to feel like Classic, and part of that is being able to bring a friend along without first sending them through a long chain of quests. The encounters themselves are meant to feel like Classic fights rather than lean on complicated mechanics.

Later tiers are a different question, and they would not be drawn on it: asked whether attunements could come back, they said they "won't answer that at the moment."

The first raids open together on Dec 9, 2026, about five weeks after launch: Barrow Deeps for 10 players, Hyjal Summit for 20, and Onyxia's Lair for 40.
