All nine new dungeons in WoW Forever, from Hall of Thanes to Shaper's Terrace

In short
  • Nine dungeon-scale adventures between level 13 and 60
  • Dalaran (28–33) is a city to explore, not just an instance
  • The Drowned City (35–40) was the playable demo dungeon
  • Krol'dok Stronghold (40–55) is a huge outdoor dungeon
  • Blackmaw Hold (55–60) leads toward the Barrow Deeps

Forever adds nine dungeon-scale adventures, and a few of them blur the line between an instance and an open part of the world. Here they are in level order.

Hall of Thanes (13–18) lies beneath Ironforge, where the ancient dwarven kings are buried. Someone, most likely the Dark Irons, has broken in, and ghostly whispers are coming out of the halls. Alliance players are asked to clear the intruders out; the Horde has to sneak or fight its way in. For the Alliance it fills the slot Ragefire Chasm always filled for the Horde.

Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20) is the Forsaken's shattered capital above the Undercity. They're trying to recover family heirlooms and memories from the rubble, but the Scourge never fully left, and a necromancer looks to be preparing an attack on another city. Horde players help with the reclamation. Alliance players will need a less direct way in.

The Excavation Site (24–29) sits above Whelgar's Excavation in the Wetlands. A strange mist has come down from the mountains, there are flashes of light, and Titan constructs are moving again. The place seems stuck in time, so expect the Explorers' League to be very interested.

Dalaran (28–33) is the rebuilt city, still standing in the Alterac Mountains. The Kirin Tor barrier around it has fallen, enchantments are failing, arcane constructs are malfunctioning and demonic energy is spreading. It's more than a dungeon. You get to explore the city itself.

The Drowned City (35–40) is a set of ancient troll ruins off the Stranglethorn coast that suddenly rose out of the sea. Trolls, naga and a crashed pirate ship are all part of it. This is the one people got to play in the BlizzCon demo.

Krol'dok Stronghold (40–55) is an enormous outdoor dungeon in the Riverglades. Ogres are kidnapping people and raiding settlements, and the chanting heard at night points to a cult, possibly the Twilight's Hammer. If you spent your 30s and 40s farming Scarlet Monastery, this is the alternative you were waiting for.

Alcaz Prison (48–53) was once used by the Defias to hold important nobles for ransom, and rumor has it King Varian Wrynn was kept there. Now the Defias and the naga are fighting each other inside, which gives adventurers a way in.

Blackmaw Hold (55–60) is a large furbolg city behind the gate in Azshara that was always locked. The furbolgs inside seem to be fighting off corruption, and their tunnels run deep into the mountain toward bigger dangers, the Barrow Deeps among them.

Shaper's Terrace (58–60) is a Titan facility in the hills of Un'Goro Crater that time hasn't touched: ancient structures, dangerous wildlife, dinosaurs, power crystals and a mysterious source of energy. If you did the pylon quests in Un'Goro back in the day, it's the same kind of Titan mystery on a much bigger scale.
