WoW Forever beta opens at level 20; name reservation runs Oct 27–Nov 3
- The beta opens Sept 17 with a level 20 cap
- The cap rises to 30 after a couple of weeks
- Early Name Reservation: Oct 27–Nov 3, 2026 (PST), with any upgrade pack
- Up to three characters; names go first come, first served
The WoW Forever beta won't open at level 30 after all. It starts on Sept 17 with characters capped at level 20, and the cap goes up to 30 after a couple of weeks. Clay Stone, Associate Production Director on Forever, said so in an interview with content creator Destin; Icy Veins first reported it.
So the first stretch of the beta covers levels 1 to 20 only. Blizzard hasn't given a date for the jump to 30, but the cap stays at 30 for the rest of the beta, which ends on Oct 21. Everyone starts at level 1 when Forever launches. It opens for Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection owners.
Name reservation comes with every upgrade: the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection. From Oct 27 through Nov 3, 2026 (PST) you can create and customize up to three characters, and each name goes to whoever claims it first. If there's a name you really want, Oct 27 is the day to log in. Launch follows on Nov 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST.
Names now have two parts and are unique across the whole region, so there's more room than on a single realm, but the popular ones will still go fast.
Still open: the exact beta start time on Sept 17, and the day the cap rises to 30.
