GDKP raids won't be allowed in WoW Forever

GDKP is not coming to WoW Forever. Asked about it in Blizzard's developer Q&A on Sept 17, just before the beta opened, Josh Greenfield put it plainly: "The short answer is no, we are not going to allow GDKP." Wowhead, Icy Veins and Warcraft Tavern all reported the answer the same day.
In a GDKP raid, loot is auctioned off for gold and the pot is split between the raiders at the end. Greenfield gave three reasons for keeping it out. It tends to become the default way to raid and crowd out ordinary guilds. It leaves new players feeling they have to buy gold to compete for items. And it gives bad actors an easy way to move large sums of gold around.
Blizzard also promised a more aggressive approach to gold selling and, more importantly in its view, gold buying. According to Icy Veins, that means watching Forever's economy and taking action against the accounts of buyers, sellers and bots.
None of this is new if you've played recent Classic. GDKP has been banned in Season of Discovery since its second phase, and on the Anniversary realms. Blizzard hasn't said exactly how it will spot GDKP runs in Forever.
