WoW Forever announced at BlizzCon 2026

Blizzard opened BlizzCon 2026 with World of Warcraft: Forever — a new edition of vanilla-era WoW made by the Classic team, living alongside existing Classic realms. The pitch on stage: "the world is a main character" and "the journey matters more than the destination."

The confirmed list: level cap 60 permanently, no flying, no level scaling, nine new dungeons, two raids (a 10-player Barrow Deeps and a 20-player Hyjal Summit), a new neutral elven race called the Skyborne, and a Hardcore mode with no date yet.

Four regions were shown — Zephras Isle, Shen'dralas, the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal — though official copy says three new zones plus overhauled ones. We're labelling that gap unconfirmed until Blizzard clarifies.
